The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Executive Committee (EXCO) has approved and ratified several multi-billion-naira infrastructure contracts, while directing renewed enforcement against land revenue defaulters across Abuja.
The decisions were taken at the first EXCO meeting of 2026, chaired by the FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, at his official residence in Life Camp, Abuja.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Engr. Richard Yunana Dauda, said the Council ratified a ₦3.79 billion emergency rehabilitation of roads within the Presidential Villa to address over 30 years of wear and tear.
He also disclosed that a ₦9.8 billion contract for the Kabusa–Ketti Road was approved to improve security and connectivity. The road, fast-tracked following kidnapping incidents in the area, has been completed, commissioned and is currently in use.

In addition, the EXCO ratified a ₦1.7 billion emergency project for erosion control and restoration of water transmission lines from the Lower Usuma Dam to avert disruption of Abuja’s water supply.
On education, the Council approved a ₦62 million facility management contract for the Korea Model School, a flagship basic education institution in the FCT.
Meanwhile, the EXCO has authorised immediate enforcement actions against defaulters in ground rent payments, Certificates of Occupancy and illegal land-use conversions. Director of Land Administration, Mr. Chijioke Nwankwoeze, said enforcement, including possible revocation of titles and sealing of properties, will commence next week following the expiration of a grace period.
The Acting Chairman of the FCT Inland Revenue Service, Mr. Micheal Ango, stressed that compliance was necessary to sustain ongoing infrastructure development in the nation’s capital.
Earlier, Minister Wike assured residents of the FCTA’s commitment to policies and projects that would improve living standards across the FCT.
