The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced that the physical and credential screening exercise for the recruitment of General Duty and Specialist Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force will commence from March 9 to April 18, 2026.

The screening will take place at the FCT Police Command Headquarters, Garki II, Abuja.

According to the Command, the exercise follows the deployment of officers by the Inspector General of Police to conduct the screening process across all states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory.

Applicants who successfully completed their online applications are required to appear for screening on the dates scheduled for their respective states. They are to come along with the following documents:

  • Evidence of physical and mental fitness from a government-recognised medical hospital
  • Originals and photocopies of Certificate of Origin duly signed by the Local Government Chairman or Secretary
  • Originals and photocopies of National Identity Card or NIN slip
  • Originals and photocopies of O’Level results
  • Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age
    Printout of application form
  • Duly completed Guarantor’s Form
    Invitation slip

The Command stressed that the screening exercise will be conducted strictly on merit and in line with the highest standards of professionalism and transparency. Applicants are advised to adhere strictly to the guidelines and ensure all required documents are presented.

In a statement by the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the police further warned members of the public that the recruitment process is free of charge and urged anyone approached for gratification to promptly report such individuals or groups.
