The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has led an extensive operational assessment of the Karshi, Kurudu and Karu mountain corridors, reinforcing security deployments in areas previously identified as routes and hideouts used by armed attackers.
The operational patrol, conducted on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, covered Karshi, Kurudu, Karu Bakin Uza and Karufe Hill within the Nasarawa mountain corridors, as part of sustained efforts to strengthen security across vulnerable and border communities.

During the tour, the Commissioner paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Sa Karuyi of Karu, His Royal Majesty Joseph Danfulani Narai (JP), where he emphasised the need for sustained collaboration between traditional institutions, community leaders and security agencies.
CP Dantawaye urged residents to support ongoing security operations by providing timely and credible information to the police.
The Commissioner thereafter inspected operational deployments across the mountainous terrains, assessing the positioning and effectiveness of personnel tasked with maintaining control of the area, which also serves as a boundary between the FCT and Nasarawa State.

While interacting with officers deployed in the area, CP Dantawaye commended their dedication and resilience, encouraged them to remain vigilant and assured them of his full support to ensure the effective discharge of their duties.
According to the Command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the patrol forms part of the Commissioner’s broader strategy to personally assess security deployments in difficult terrains and flashpoint areas within and around the FCT.
Residents of the affected communities were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the FCT Police Command through its emergency numbers: 08032003913 and 07057337653.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the territory and adjoining communities.
