The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has decorated 13 newly promoted officers and charged them to uphold professionalism, discipline and improved service delivery.

The officers were elevated from the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) and were formally decorated on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Abuja.

The decoration ceremony was attended by senior officers of the Command, family members of the newly promoted officers and their colleagues.

Speaking at the event, CP Dantawaye congratulated the officers on their well-deserved promotions, describing the elevation as a testament to their dedication, commitment to duty and professional conduct over the years.

He reminded them that their new ranks come with greater responsibilities and higher expectations, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector-General of Police, who approved their substantive promotions.

The Commissioner charged the officers to maintain the highest standards of discipline, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, while remaining exemplary in character and service in line with the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

He further encouraged them to see the promotion as a renewed call to service and leadership, stressing the importance of effective policing in ensuring the safety and security of residents of the Federal Capital Territory.

The event marked another milestone in the career progression of the officers and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to motivating personnel through recognition and advancement based on merit.
