
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has taken a significant step in strengthening its arms management and security infrastructure with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art containerized armory donated by Mines Advisory Group (MAG) International.
The handover ceremony held today, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at the Command Headquarters, was attended by senior security stakeholders and development partners.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement, disclosed that the modern facility, constructed in line with international best practices, is designed to enhance safe and secure storage of arms and ammunition. It provides improved safeguards against unauthorized access, accidental discharge, and arms mishandling, contributing meaningfully to public safety and national security.

Representing the Inspector-General of Police at the event, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Armament, AIG Isyaku Mohammed, commended MAG International for its support to the Nigeria Police Force. He noted that the armory will significantly boost the Command’s capacity to manage arms professionally, transparently, and by global standards.
AIG Mohammed further emphasized the need for sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and MAG International in the shared pursuit of peace, safety, and national development.
