The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, CP Babaji Sunday has ordered the deployment of 2,336 Police personnel to ensure watertight security at all places of worship, recreational and entertainment centers, and other places of interest during the Easter celebrations.
CP Sunday calls on stakeholders in the Christian faith to seize the opportunity to admonish those within their spheres of influence to embrace peace, tolerance for one another and persons of other faith, adherence to law and order, and most importantly be patriotic.
The Commissioner of Police while assuring residents that the Command has taken intentional effort in ensuring robust security of lives and properties of the citizens for the Easter period and beyond, also charged operatives to respond promptly to distress calls from within the city center and the suburbs, with respect for fundamental human rights and in accordance to standard best practices.
The FCT Police Spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, in a statement said, the Commissioner of Police also directed the strategic deployment of Tactical and Intelligence Assets across the entire nooks and crannies of the Territory and in strong synergy with sister agencies and the local security outfits, immediately respond to any unfriendly emergency.
