The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has announced a restriction of movement across the Federal Capital Territory ahead of Saturday’s Area Council Elections.
Commissioner of Police, Miller G. Dantawaye, said the restriction will be enforced from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, as part of measures to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Josephine Adeh, the directive will apply to all residents of the FCT, except essential service providers and duly accredited election officials.
The Command urged residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and cooperate fully with security agencies deployed across the territory for the exercise.
