…CP DANTAWAYE DEPLOYS TACTICAL TEAMS AND SURVEILLANCE UNITS FOR THREE-MONTH SECURITY SWEEP

In a renewed and intensified effort to rid the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of criminal elements and consolidate the peace currently being enjoyed by residents, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, has ordered a comprehensive cleanup operation across the Territory.

The operation, which commences in November 2025 and will run through January 2026, involves the coordinated deployment of tactical and surveillance teams under the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), as well as operatives of the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), and all Divisional Police Formations within the Command.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that the operation is designed to identify, dislodge, and apprehend all criminal elements hiding within the nooks and crannies of the FCT. He noted that the exercise will be sustained at a high intensity, ensuring continuous dominance over identified black spots, criminal enclaves, and vulnerable communities to guarantee the safety of residents.

CP Dantawaye warned all officers and men deployed for the operation to take the assignment with utmost seriousness and professionalism. He emphasized that acts of misconduct, dereliction of duty, or abuse of human rights will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

While commending residents for their continued cooperation, the CP urged the public to remain vigilant, security-conscious, and supportive of police efforts by promptly reporting any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station.

For emergencies or quick response, residents are encouraged to contact the FCT Police Command through the following lines: 0806 158 1938, 0803 200 3913; CRU: 0810 731 4192
