The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command’s Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police (SP) Josephine Adeh, has been named the Best 2024 IGP Public Relations Officer of the Year, which solidifies her as an innovator and trailblazer in Police Communications.

Adeh was honoured at the 2nd Nigeria Police Awards and Commendations Ceremony held on Wednesday, May 5, 2025, at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, where she emerged winner amongst top competitive nominees, like Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, SP Tochukwu Anthony Ikenganiya, and Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Command, DSP Chinaka Maureen Chioma.

Responding to the award, SP Adeh, who was excited, elated, and overwhelmed, said, “I am honoured. I am humbled. I am grateful. Winning the IGP Award for Best Public Relations Office of the Year is not just a recognition, it’s a testament to teamwork, dedication, and the power of effective communication in policing.

“I express my heartfelt appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, for this prestigious honour, and to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, for his outstanding leadership, guidance, and unwavering support.

“Also, I thank my incredible media partners for helping to amplify our messages, telling our stories, and standing with us in the pursuit of truth and public trust.

“And to my wonderful team, colleagues, and every Nigerian who engages with us, this award is ours. We remain committed to building trust, telling our story, and bridging the gap between the police and the people.”

Adeh dedicated the award to the media, which she said pushed her to the level of winning the trophy. To the Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and especially DIG Frank Mba, for all his professional tutelage.

She said, “I promise to do more. To whom much is given, much is expected. I will keep giving my best and won’t disappoint the IGP or the Nigeria Police Force.”
