Wailing, tears and outpouring of grief and eulogization rend the atmosphere at the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), as the Founder, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, was on Friday laid to rest within the church premises located at Ikotun, Lagos State, Nigeria.
It would be recalled that the popular Lagos-based televangelist, Prophet Joshua died on June 5, 2021, shortly after a church service where he spoke on the topic: “Time for everything – time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service”.
The 57 years old Prophet died few days to his 58th birthday. “His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for, and died for,” SCOAN statement reiterated.
During the sermon at the laying-in state service, one of the evangelists of SCOAN, Prophet Chris, urged the church to watch and pray.
He also told the congregation that they should not allow their works to end when they are no more.
The clergy further admonished the church to allow the work of faith to continue even in the absence of the late Founder of the church.
According to the preacher, “Prophet T.B Joshua knew his mission on earth. He is a genuine Prophet of the Most High God.”
Prophet Chris, who expressed sadness that natural talents have been misunderstood as gifts from God, insisted that Prophet T.B Joshua was given to the world by God for a short time to rekindle the flame of faith.
He added: “It is the Spirit of God that sustained the late T.B Joshua despite the criticism against his person and ministry. The criticisms were free adverts for the spirit of God in his life.”
Earlier in his remarks, the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, described the late Prophet as a philanthropist, who touched the lives of many.
Even the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN), charged those the late SCOAN Founder had left behind to continue from where he stopped, just as he asked the immediate family to take solace in the fact that Prophet T.B Joshua lived a fulfilled life.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was also not left out as he eulogized the clergy for his good deeds whilst he was alive.
