A notorious member of “Black Axe” confraternity that exchanged gunfire with a detachment of Tactical team of the Nigerian police force and was neutralized in the process, has had his image released.
According to “Naija Confra” in its post on facebook, the suspec succumbed to bullet wounds after engaging the police in a gun duel in Urohi, Esan West Local Government of Edo state on Saturday night, 13th December, 2025 during a foiled initiation of over 50 young men who had clandestinely sneaked into the community.
The Edo State Police Command had on Sunday, in a press statement disclosed that about 27 persons were arrested. However, further information obtained revealed that about 52 suspects were arrested.
Naija Confra further hinted that the suspect’s notoriety reached its apogee as he was labelled as the “Butcher” (Hitman) of the cult in Ekpoma (Udi HT).
Although not much information could be obtained, the fair in complexion young man was said to be married with a wife and have two children.
Meanwhile, NBM Zonal in the post “distance the body from the incident and warned that any member involved in such activities going forward, will face the consequences alone.”
“It is heartbreaking to see individuals who should guide others against cultism instead participate in it.”
It called on non-cultists (free men), to take a cue from what happened and reject cultism in its entirety.
