The Nigeria Police Force has formally concluded the 15th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) “Asaba 2026” at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, bringing to a close a week-long display of athletic excellence, institutional cohesion, and professional discipline.
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, described the tournament as a defining institutional moment where competition revealed character, noting that what began as a convergence of Commands and Formations matured into a powerful demonstration of unity, resilience, and shared purpose across the Force.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Force Headquarters, Abuja, Ag. ACP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the theme, “Beyond the Badge: Excellence in Action,” resonated throughout the Games, evident in the discipline, sportsmanship, and mutual respect displayed by participants. The statement emphasised that the physical discipline fostered through sports directly enhances operational readiness and strengthens service delivery nationwide.
Declaring the Games closed, Delta State Deputy Governor, Monday John Onyeme, commended the Police for exemplifying dignity and dedication beyond the badge. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to promoting sports as a catalyst for unity, youth development, and national progress.

The colourful closing ceremony featured football finals, a frisbee demonstration, tug-of-war contests, 4×100 relay races, invitational events involving sister security agencies, and a closing concert.
At the end of the competition, Force Headquarters emerged overall champion, topping the medal table, while Zone 2 Lagos and Zone 9 secured second and third positions, respectively.
The Police leadership reaffirmed its resolve to translate the unity, discipline, and resilience demonstrated in Asaba into enhanced policing duties across the country.
