It was a glorious tenure that ended in praise as the former Anambra State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Comdt. Everestus Obiyo, on Sunday, held a thanksgiving mass to thank God for a successful tenure of office.
The service which was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Awka saw the elated Everestus C. Obiyo, sing and dance to the Most High God for a fruitful and successful tenure of office as the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command.
Comdt. Obiyo led officers and men of the command, well-wishers, and friends to thank Almighty God for how far he had brought him and for his guidance, protection, provision, providential grace, and peace throughout the period he served as the State Command helmsman.
Reading from the Scripture taken from Deuteronomy 30: 10-14, Colossians 1: 15-20, and Luke10: 25-37, in his brief exhortation, the Parish Vicar, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Awka, Rev. Fr. Pascal Okekeazi who centered his theme on: “Who is your neighbour,” commended the outgone State Commandant for his exemplary leadership in executing the core mandates of NSCDC and his immense contributions to the safety of lives and property in the State.
He wished the outgone State Commandant who had been deployed for another national assignment well in his future endeavors and encouraged him to replicate his good deeds in his new assignment.
Intercessory Prayers were offered for the Nation, the NSCDC Management, and all personnel with their families for God’s protection and guidance in recognition of their sacrifices to keep the State and the Nation at large safe.
The personnel thanked praises and worshipped the glory of God and offertory made alongside.
