Communities across the North East are beginning to breathe easier, thanks to the unwavering efforts of Nigerian troops under Operation HADIN KAI.
In a special three-day media tour, senior journalists witnessed first-hand how the Armed Forces are turning areas once plagued by insecurity into zones of peace, stability, and renewed hope.

Organized by the Defence Headquarters’ Directorate of Defence Media Operations (DDMO), the Defence Media Assessment Tour brought journalists into close contact with troops and local communities, offering an up-close look at the military’s operations, civil-military engagement programs, and post-conflict development initiatives.
At the Theatre Headquarters in Maiduguri, Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar praised the soldiers’ resilience and emphasized the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede’s, people-focused strategy.

“Our mission goes beyond military action,” Major General Abubakar said. “We are committed to protecting communities, restoring livelihoods, and creating a safe environment for humanitarian work and social progress.”
The media team visited key operational sites, including Forward Operating Bases Tunkushe and Molai, and the Joint Investigation Centre, observing both tactical operations and efforts to rebuild local infrastructure and confidence.
Group Captain Ibrahim Bukar, team leader of the assessment delegation, described strategic communication as a “force multiplier” for national security, praising the Armed Forces for transparency and their open engagement with the media. He also commended the troops’ dedication and sacrifices in bringing stability to the region.

The tour concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and a group photograph, symbolizing the strong partnership between the military, the media, and the communities they serve.
With Operation HADIN KAI showing tangible results, the North East is gradually reclaiming its place as a region of opportunity, resilience, and hope.
