The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Lagos Sector Command will deploy adequate personnel and patrol vehicles during the 2024 Access Bank Lagos City Marathon scheduled for Saturday, 10th February 2024.
The event is slated to commence from 05:30 am, some routes in the state will be temporarily closed for traffic to allow for seamless movement of all participants.
The following routes are: –
ROUTE A
START POINT: Stadium- Barrack Road-@Palm grove- Turn right into Gbagada Expressway – 3rd Mainland bridge- Adeniji- Osborne Road Falomo- turn to Bourdillion – Ikoyi linked bridge- Admiralty- Lekki phase 1 gate – Turn right -Lekki tollgate- Ozumba Mbadiwe road- Turn to Akin Adeola- Coscharis- Straight to Eko Atlantic – Eko Atlantic city…. Finish Point.
ROUTE B 10 km
START POINT: Office 360 Wusu Road -Admiralty Road -Turn left by GTB -Lekki phase 1 gate – Turn right to Lekki tollgate- Ozumba Mbadiwe Road- Turn to Akin Adeola- Coscharis- Straight to Eko Atlantic – Eko Atlantic city… Finish Point.
However, the following alternative routes will be available for vehicular movement: Apongbon Bridge, Eko Bridge, Costain Roundabout, Iponri, Bode Thomas Eko Bridge, Costain Roundabout, Apapa Road, Oyingbo, Jebba and Herbert Macaulay Way.
Also, others are Victoria Island, Independence Bridge, CMS Bridge, Apongbon, Ijora Olopa, Iddo, Oyingbo, Herbert Macaulay way.
However, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi, FRSC Public Education Officer said in a statement in Lagos on Thursday that the outward journey from Ikorodu Road to Funsho Williams Avenue inward Lagos Island will be opened throughout the period of the marathon.
The Sector Commander FRSC Lagos Sector Command Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye implores all motorists to plan their journey and adhere strictly to the instructions of traffic management officers comprising of FRSC and other traffic management agencies.
