The General Officer Commanding (GOC), 81 Division Nigerian Army, Maj. Gen. Godwin Umelo, has warned soldiers of the division to stay out of illegal duties or anything that would tarnish the image of the force or negate the vision of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai.
He charged the officers and soldiers of the Division to uphold total discipline and be professionally responsive and discharge their constitutional roles.
Gen. Umelo made these remarks during his maiden familiarisation visits to units and formations under command.

Assuring the troops that the Chief of Army Staff would continue to improve on efforts that would make the troops function optimally, he added that the army authority was aware of the accommodation challenges facing the troops but noted that very soon; they would have every reason to smile.
Similarly, the GOC also paid courtesy visit to the Seme Border Acting Area Comptroller of Customs CD Wada and the Comptroller of Immigration Seme Border Command BO Zipamor respectively.
He commended them for the cordial relationship and synergy offered by the sister services to the military and informed them that his office is opened for any assistance from the Army.

It would be recalled that the GOC assumed command on July 22, 2020 and as customary in the military, behooves on the GOC to visits formations and units to see things physically with a view to improving the state of readiness of units and formations under command.
