Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo and members of the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) have reviewed and approved the progress report for the 2024 Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan (BERAP).
As part of the State Action on Business Enabling Reform (SABER) Programme, the state commits each year to implementing reforms aimed at enhancing the ease of doing business.
According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the progress of these reforms is continuously monitored to ensure sustainability and assess their impact on businesses in Anambra State.
He stated that the initiatives have led to improvements in land administration, infrastructure investment, business processes, investment promotion and protection, tax administration, and access to justice through small claims courts, among other areas.
The BERAP was approved at ANSEC’s 14th meeting at the Light House, Awka, on 14th July 2025, where the Council, among other important state matters, held a one-minute silence for the Late President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his death as a great loss to the nation.
The Council also awarded a fourth dual carriageway, namely, the Ekwulobia to Nnobi Dualisation Road Project. This completes the linking of the four major Anambra cities by dual carriageways, thereby completing the beltway to permit easy flow of traffic around the state.
Other projects to be executed include the supply and installation of mechanical appurtenances at College of Nursing Sciences; the construction of metallic view-point barricade at the new government house now known as the Light House, Awka; the payment for geophysical survey/mapping charges; the construction of outstanding road segments in Okpoko Area; as well as the procurement, installation, and deployment of digital multi-band jammers.
