By Okosun Dennis

The much-anticipated annual fashion show, tagged “GTCO Fashion Weekend,” will kick off in Lagos on Saturday with expectations for attendees that will surpass previous editions.

The organiser, GTCO, disclosed on Wednesday that the two-day fashion event will be laced with glamour, the best of fashion, promising enthusiastic attendees’ great expectations.

The event, which is in its 8th edition, will take place at Plot 1, Water Corporation Drive, Oniru, from 8 to 9th November 2025.

In this edition of the show, it will feature Runway Shows, Retail Experiences, Masterclasses, and Streetwear Hub.

GTCO Fashion Weekend, “Promoting Enterprise”, has been a celebration of creativity, innovation, and enterprise, which connects small businesses with wider markets.

Over the years, it stands out as one of the most anticipated fashion and lifestyle events with its unifying concepts and bringing entrepreneurs and audiences from across continents.

According to the Group Chief Executive Officer, Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO), Mr. Segun Agbaje remarked: “This year we mark the eighth edition of Africa’s biggest fashion event, we take pride in how far this journey has come and the countless stories it has inspired.”

The Masterclass, over the years, has become a rendezvous for fashion enthusiasts – young and old in the fashion industry – which promises to be a beacon of hope for future youngsters in the fashion and lifestyle industry.

The lineup in the masterclass will feature Bianca Saunders, a luxury design brand that pioneers an elegant and refined aesthetic, where gender serves less as a signifier than material, cut, and culture.

The London-based designer graduated from the prestigious Master’s in Menswear at the Royal College of Art. The brand explores the nuances between tradition and modernity, intricately navigating the seamless blending of masculine and feminine elements in its design ethos.

Also, Melissa Butler and Jade Oyateru, will be speaking on the topic: “The Power of Story: Building Brands People Believe in.”

Others include: Patrick Ta, Maria Borges and Christiana Tegbe with the topic: “The Science of Ritual: From Heritage to Results – The future of African Beauty.

While briefing the press on Wednesday, the GTB Group Communications, Mr. Charles Eremi commended the media for the good partnership for the past eight years.
He explained that this year’s show will be a mix-up of an avalanche of designers across the globe – African and foreign designers – who will showcase their creative ingenuity, trends in the fashion industry.

Conducting media men round the well-decorated exhibition of what to expect and the gallery of past designs, Oghene Nero observed that the GTCO Fashion Weekend 2025 edition is going to be an immersive setup that shows the definition of fashion and the contributions to Nigerian fashion.

She noted that the “Loom Room” (Aso Oke) is designed to immerse lovers of the traditional brand in what it takes to produce it, a fashion brand that has become a toast in the global settings.
