Over 50 suspects have been arrested while the shanties they occupied have been destroyed, and effectively dislodged following a violent clash by youths and hoodlums at Ile-Epo part of Lagos State.
It was learnt that the Lagos Police Command restored peace and normalcy to the Ile-Epo community following reports of violent clashes among some youths and hoodlums in the area.
The Divisional Police Officer, Oke-Odo was said to have led his men to the scene and restored normalcy.
In a statement on Thursday, the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said that the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has directed the prompt prosecution of the arrested hoodlums.
In addition, he warned that the Command would decisively deal with anyone found breaching the peace, by the law.
Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Operations), Area Commander Alagbado, and other Divisional Police Officers under the Area Command are currently on the ground to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
