A crack team of the Delta State Police Command, acting on intelligence, has arrested a drug suspect, 24 years old Larry Onifon, following a raid on black spots in Okwuchi quarters of the state, while others took to their heels.
The suspect, according to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Edafe Bright, and made available to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), claimed he was a fashion designer.
The statement further revealed that the following items were recovered: 40 packets of 100mg Tramadol, 89 wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp, four sachets of Swinol, three containers of Loud, 55 wraps of substances suspected to be cocaine.
In his confessional statement, Larry Onifon stated that the cartel popularly called “OBJ cartel” is owned by one of the fleeing suspects named “OBJ”.
The Command also reported the arrest of 25 male cultists during a raid of a criminal hideout at Agbor.
Some of the suspects, according to the statement, confessed to being members of Black Axe Confraternity and Junior Supreme Aiye Confraternity.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police Delta State, Ari Muhammed Ali, while appreciating officers and men for their tireless efforts in the fight against crime and criminality, admonished them to be alive to their responsibilities and discharge their duties effectively.
The CP thanked members of the public and other stakeholders for their continuous support and partnership with the Command. He assures all that the Command under his watch will not let them down.
