An attempt by an Ex-Convict to outwit men of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) at about 9:30 pm and escape with a phone he had snatched spree on Wednesday was foiled as the suspect was arrested promptly.
The suspect, Abdul-Lateef Mutiu, 20, who confessed to being an ex-convict had successfully snatched an Infinix Hot 30 Play valued at N93,000:00 from a UBER driver in Ketu.
Abdul-Lateef Mutiu, after snatching the phone from the driver, attempted to escape when the officers arrested him. He confessed that he has been operating in the area since 2018 and has been arrested twice.
Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed that the phone be handed over to his owner while the suspect be charged to court immediately.
