Three men who pretend to be strangers but operate in a Volkswagen Gulf Car to defraud their innocent passengers have been arrested by the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), in Opebi, Ikeja following a tip-off and handed to operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS).
Police’s preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects: Dele Olawale, 52, Remi Ogunleye, 45, and Kole Akintunjoye, 40 all-male, reside in Ogun State but came to Lagos daily to carry out their nefarious activities on unsuspecting passengers.
The gang, who operate in a Volkswagen Golf, with Registration Number: KRD 998 DE pretend to b like total strangers to one another during a ride to disarm their victim.
It was further revealed that they carry out their heinous activities mostly in Lagos Island, Lekki, and Ikoyi.
Confirming the arrest in Lagos on Saturday, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin said in a statement that the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, has since transferred the case to the State Headquarters for further investigations.
