A human rights organisation, Guard Time Information, Human Rights Activists Nationwide, has commended United States President Donald Trump for what it described as the deployment of the U.S. Air Force against ISIS terrorist elements operating in North-West Nigeria.
The group also appealed to President Trump to extend such efforts by ensuring that individuals responsible for terrorist attacks in Nigeria are pursued, apprehended and brought to justice for crimes committed against Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of the organisation, its Chairman, Mr. Bibi Oduku, urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to engage in negotiations with bandits or terrorist groups operating within the country. According to him, dialogue with such groups could undermine national security efforts.
Mr. Oduku called for the full empowerment of Nigeria’s security agencies to decisively confront and neutralise terrorist and criminal elements wherever they may be found. He stressed that those responsible for attacks on civilians and security personnel must not be allowed to escape justice, even if they have fled to other locations.

The human rights advocate also expressed strong support for the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, encouraging him to remain focused despite criticism from some quarters.
He noted that the military leadership’s strategies are aimed at restoring peace and security across the country and should be recognised, particularly in honour of innocent civilians and security operatives who have lost their lives to terrorist violence.
In addition, Mr. Oduku called on Nigerians to remain vigilant within their communities, urging citizens to promptly report suspicious movements or suspected hideouts of terrorists and criminal elements to security agencies. He said timely and credible information from the public would significantly aid efforts to protect lives and property nationwide.
The group reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for human rights and national security, while calling for collective action to end terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria.
