The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed that former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is currently in its custody in connection with ongoing investigations.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, the Commission stated that El-Rufai is being held as part of investigative processes.

The statement, signed by the ICPC’s Head of Media and Public Communications/Spokesperson, J. Okor Odey, clarified that the former governor remains in the custody of the Commission as of the close of work on the stated date.

While the Commission did not disclose details of the investigation, it noted that the action forms part of its statutory mandate to probe allegations of corruption and related offences.

Further updates are expected as investigations progress.
