In continuation of the Inspector General of Police duty tour to Lagos State, Ag. IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has charged the traditional rulers and the traditional institutions in general, with inclusiveness in actualizing the principles of community policing in order to have a more secure and peaceful society in Nigeria.
Disclosing this by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Thursday, August 24, 2023, said IGP Egbetokun who paid a courtesy visit to the esteemed Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu, Osuolale Akiolu, at his palace in Iga Idunganran extended his heartfelt appreciation to the royal father, who once served as an Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in the Police Force prior to his retirement.
The IGP commended Oba Rilwan Aremu for his unwavering support and dedication in ensuring the Police reach and maintain its esteemed position in Nigeria’s security architecture.
In turn, the Oba of Lagos expressed his admiration for the Acting IGP’s remarkable achievements thus far. He assured the IGP of the full cooperation of Lagos State’s Obas, Chiefs, and the entire community in the pursuit of effective policing and the safeguarding of our communities.
Similarly, the IGP visited the Oniru of Iru kingdom, Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, who is also a retired police officer. The IGP was accompanied on these visits by the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), DIG Abiodun Alabi, the AIG Zone 2, AIG Ali Mohammed Ari, and various other senior officers in Lagos State.
