Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has welcomed a delegation from the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), The Peace Institute (TPI), and other partners to the Government House in Dutse, as the state hosts a three-week Transformative Digital Literacy Programme in Hadejia town.
The initiative is designed to train 1,050 primary school pupils and build the capacity of 30 teachers, equipping them with essential digital skills to prepare for the evolving demands of the digital age.
Governor Namadi commended the programme, describing it as a strategic pillar of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which Jigawa State has fully embraced. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sustained collaboration with NITDA and its partners to help achieve the national target of 70 percent digital literacy by 2027.
