A former Senator that represented Abia Central Senatorial District and the immediate Past Pro-Chancellor University of Calabar, Distinguished Senator Nkechi Nwaogu Ph.D., CON, has described June 12 as the cornerstone of the country’s democracy.

Ugonwanyi ndi Igbo described the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola as the Father of Nigeria’s modern Democracy, a renowned Politician, and successful businessman who paid the ultimate price for the entrenchment of democracy in the country.
Distinguished Senator Nwaogu made a Clarion call for all Nigerians irrespective of tribe, religion, cultural and political affiliations to add their own quota towards maintaining peace and stability in the country as that will be the best honor to accord to Late Chief M.K.O Abiola.
Senator Nwaogu later prayed that Chief M.K.O Abiola will continue to rest in the bosom of the Lord God.
