THE humility and team spirit, Head of the Inspector General of Police – Intelligence Response Team (IRT) Abba Kyari; a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has brought to bear on the activities of the Team has continued to yield dividends in all the formations of the special squad as operatives have learnt to work as one indivisible family anywhere they are.
This was practically demonstrated recently when DCP Kyari visited the IRT new office in Ogun State. The office was built by the IRT Team leader in Ogun State, Adekunle Aka Babalawo; a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) reportedly with assistance from the good people of the State.
While being conducted round the office block, the IRT boss; Abba Kyari was visibly elated and proud of his men in that state. He was quite impressed with the office building and would not hide his deep appreciation to the team leader and all those who supported him to actualize the dream of setting up a befitting office block for the Team.
In Lagos where the headquarters of the Southwest zone of IRT is located, the Sector Coordinator, Philip Rieninwa; a Chief Superintendent of Police is equally showing good leadership qualities that easily gives him out as a good follower of DCP Abba Kyari. The team spirit that permeates all ranks within the ranks of IRT operatives leaves one to imagine if they are different from the other formations within the Nigeria Police.
PEOPLE AND POWER observations revealed that the team spirit is the creation of Abba Kyari whose demeanor and carriage goes with no discrimination irrespective of rank, religion, ethic background or sex.
