The Lagos State Police Command has summoned Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries (aka Grace Nation), over allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences and conduct capable of breaching public peace.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, the cleric was directed to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, by 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026.

The police said the invitation followed the service of a formal invitation letter on Pastor Okafor through his legal representative.

According to the Command, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of SCID, Panti, to carry out a thorough, professional and unbiased investigation into the allegations, which include capital and other serious offences.

To ensure the safety of complainants, the police said adequate security has been provided for alleged victims, while members of the public with useful information or evidence were encouraged to come forward.

The Command assured that the identities of victims and witnesses would be treated with strict confidentiality, stressing that justice would be pursued without sentiment, favour or regard to the status of any individual.

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that due process is followed in the investigation of the case.
