In a relaxed mood, children strolled into the LAGRA Secretariat located at Road 1, Alabeko, as early as 3 pm despite the scorching sun on the weekend.
The intention was to have an unforgettable evening of games, and Christian praise worship complemented with lavish entertainment, including “Ludo” game, Scrabble, Long Tennis, Whot, “Ayo”, Chess and Draft.
There were also the fastest fingers games as several recharge cards were won by residents.
Later, the “Praize Jam” started with short opening prayers by the Chairman of Lekki Atlantic Gardens Estate, Alabeko (LAGRA), Pastor Oladipo Ojutalayo who rendered a sonorous song.
Reading from the book of 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 18 “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you—-he explained that no matter the circumstances; whatever that comes one’s way, one must give thanks to God.
“It may be rosy or unpleasant, it may be sweet or bitter, we should appreciate God. In him there is good health, breakthroughs and abundance of joy,” he said.
According to him, “One thing that stands out is that God has a reason for keeping us to see 2024. No matter the pressure, we shall triumph.”
While praying for the children of the Estate and across the country, he committed them (children) into the hands of God and thanked God immensely for the preservation of their lives and wellbeing.”
The combined choir from Mercyland Parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Alabeko and other churches within the Estate entertained and ministered with different songs in several local languages.
The LAGRA Secretariat was filled throughout the duration of the “Praize Jam” which was designed to thank God for his mercies and keep residents of the Estate alive to see another bountiful year, 2024.
The 2023 Praize Jam would have taken place in the twilight of 2023 but for some circumstances.
The annual ceremony started about three years ago and has become a rendezvous for the Estate where all and sundry irrespective of religious persuasions come together to Praise God for the gift of life and abundance of protection.
The 2024 edition will hold later in the year.
