
In consonance with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, Command philosophy and directive principles to conduct free medical outreach programmes across the eight Theatres of Operations in the country, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Beecroft has carried out free medical exercise at Majidun in Ikorodu, Lagis state.
The medical rhapsody, which featured free blood sugar tests, medications, and consultations was conducted by NNS Beecroft, under the leadership of Commodore Paul Ponfa Nimmyel, who also doubled as the Maritime Component Commander (MCC) South-West, Operation AWATSE.
Conducted at the Majidun community, Ikorodu West Local Government Area, Lagos State, on Tuesday, 18th March, 2025, the Chief of Defence Civil-Military Relations (CDCMR), Rear Admiral OA Bankole, who was the Special Guest of Honour, explained that the purpose of the exercise was to assist the less privileged, especially pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children, by providing free medical services to foster a cordial relationship between military personnel and the community.

Rear Admiral Bankole urged the people of Majidun Community to take advantage of the opportunity provided by NNS BEECROFT, urging them to assist personnel of Operation AWATSE with credible information on any suspicious activities of criminals to enable prompt response and possible arrests.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu West, Honourable Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju, appreciated the efforts of NNS BEECROFT in providing free medical services to his people.
In a statement by Lieutenant Hussaini Ibrahim, Base Information Officer, NNS BEECROFT, stated that the Chairman assured the Chief of Defence Civil-Military Relations of his continuous support, as well as that of the Majidun community, for the protection of lives and property in Ikorodu.
