MD, Naval Engineering Visits NAEME (1)

Poised by the determination to foster collaboration among the engineering components of sister services for improved service delivery to the Armed Forces of Nigeria, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Naval Engineering Services Limited (NESL), Rear Admiral Baratuaipri, has paid a courtesy visit on the Commander, Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CCEME), Major General Baba Umaru Yahaya.

Maj Gen Baba Umaru Yahaya received Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla on 27th September 2024, at the Headquarters, NAEME’s Sule Labaran Conference Room, Bonny Cantonment, Victoria Island, Lagos.

It was gathered that the visit was based on the Chief of Defence Staff Leadership Concept that emphasized jointness and interagency cooperation.

Such areas of possible collaboration, Rear Admiral Iyalla reiterated, included training on engineering and business global best practices, plant, machinery and equipment maintenance, software development, and project management.

In his response, the CCEME, Maj Gen Yahaya appreciated the MD and pledged his support in fostering cooperation between the Corps and the naval establishment.

He noted that such collaboration was premised on the COAS philosophy to “Transform the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, equipped and highly motivated force towards achieving our constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment.”

He further informed Rear Admiral Iyalla that the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering could partner with them in energy generation via mobile solar-powered inverters.

The Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Headquarters, Nigerian Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Captain Nuradeen Bello further disclosed in a statement that the event was marked with the presentation of souvenirs and signing of visitors’ books.
