The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), under Operation FASAN YAMMA, on 10 August 2025, recorded another major victory against armed bandits in Zamfara State, neutralizing several terrorists in a coordinated air and ground assault on Makakkari Forest.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the Director of Public Relations and Information (DOPRI), Headquarters, Nigerian Air Force on Monday, 11th August, 2025 explained that after Intelligence Surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) had confirmed movements of over 400 bandits, with the plan to invade a farming community, the airforce swooped on them with volleys of bombs.
Adding that the operation involved precision airstrikes and ground assaults, resulted in the deaths of several notorious kingpins and scores of their foot soldiers.
While commending the successes recorded, observed that the synergy between air and land components made the operation exceptional.
