The Military Police Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum (MILPOPPROF), new Executives, Lagos Chapter, led by the Chief Facilitator, Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi (PRO FRSC LAGOS ), with some other executive members from various agencies, have visited different Heads of Security Agencies at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja.
MILPOPPROF is a forum that is made up of the Public Relations Officers of the military services, Police and Paramilitary Military organisations in the country.
The newly inaugurated executives of the Lagos Chapter, on Friday, April 9, 2021, set out to pursue with fresh vigour and zeal, the motives and visions of its founding veterans in Lagos State.
The offices and Heads visited included the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS – CIS AA Dalhatu ), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS – Comptroller represented by DC Turaki U A); the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr. Ahmadu Garba, Commander/JAIT, and Mr. Ralph N. Igwenagu both at the Airport Command office and the Lagos State Command Office, respectively.
In addition, the executives also visited the office of the Police Public Relations Officer Lagos State Command, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
The Chief Facilitator, Route Commander Sonusi, solicited for the support and collaboration of the Heads of Agencies visited at the Airport (MMIA), to ensure the release of their PROs, for meetings, symposia, workshops, fora and training, so that we can have quality synergy amongst Security Services and agencies in the state and the nation at large.
“We must pursue a collective role to stem the tide of insecurity in the nation in our own little way, she said.”
In addition, various Heads of Security Agencies visited lauded the efforts of the Forum while agreeing to give the Forum the required support and collaboration needed.
The Executives that made the visit were the Route Commander, Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos, Mrs Olabisi Sonusi; Superintendent of Immigration, Louisa Amadiokoro, PRO, NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE( NIS – MMIA COMMAND, SECRETARY MILPOPPROF); Assistant Superintendent of Corps I (ASCI), Abolurin Oluwaseun (PRO NIGERIA SECURITY AND CIVIL DEFENCE CORPS, NSCDC LAGOS STATE COMMAND, ASSISTANT SECRETARY MILPOPPROF), Mrs. Odetola Funmi PEAcrEc, ( Project Coordinator MILPOPPROF), Job Blessing ( PRO MMIA COMMAND LAGOS, NDLEA, MEMBER MILPOPPROF) and Mr. Henry Agunyi ( PRO NDLEA Lagos State Command, Ex-officio MILPOPPROF).
MILPOPPROF is registered under a Non-Governmental Organization called PEAcrEc (Peace and Conflict Resolution Resource Centre). The Forum has existed over a decade and it has its chapters in different states of the nation.
The forum was established by some veteran Public Relations Officers of the Military and the Nigeria Police Force to bridge the gap especially during altercations among service personnel especially like the ugly one that was witnessed at Ojuelegba.
It was also met to serve as a panacea to solving inter-agency rivalry and unprofessional conducts amongst officers and men amidst others.
MILPOPPROF is also mainly focused on achieving synergy in Security Communications amongst Security, Emergency Response and Regulatory Agencies while promoting Espirit de Corps for National Security.
