…Restates commitment to safer, secured Lagos

Achievements is not determined by how best one shouted or the greatest number of people subjected to inhuman treatment or tongue lashed but orchestrated by dent of hard work in a cordial environment that brings transcendental transformation and progress.
In recognition of these facts and coupled with his enviable and exemplary leadership style, professionalism and excellence in the discharge of his duties, a statue security management, tactical and strategic police operations, the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu has been named the Police Commissioner of the year 2020 in Nigeria by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP).
The prestigious award was presented to CP Odumosu by the Association’s National President, Mr. Oki Samson, assisted by the newly promoted Commissioner of Police, CP Alli Mohammed and the Chairman, Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) Victoria Island, Mr. Matthew Ibadin at the POWA Hall, Oduduwa Crescent, G.R.A Ikeja.
In his remarks with NAOSNP Press Crew after the award presentation, Odumosu said: “This award is a renewed call to qualitative security service delivery in Lagos. It is a challenge to do more and it is well appreciated”.
He lauded the collaborative efforts of National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) by adding that “The comprehensive media coverage, fair and balanced reportage and investigative skills of the association cannot be overemphasized.
“The Association is a true partner in Progress, and we must commend your good work,” He emphasised.
Odumosu reiterated his commitment to safer and secured Lagos, promising a proactive and qualitative policing system in the state.
“At the Lagos Police Command, We are poised to rid the state of criminal elements,” Odumosu stated further.
While warning unscrupulous and criminally minded individuals to stay-off the state, he called on them to shun crime and other vices or risk being arrested and prosecuted according to the law.
Odumosu, therefore, advised the senior officers and rank and file of the command to shun all acts that could portray the police in bad image. He urged the officers to discharge their duties according to the rules of engagement and shun excessive use of force.
Odumosu holds Bachelor of Arts in English from the Prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Masters in Peace Study and Conflict Resolution(NOUN), Masters degree in Public Administration (LASU), Postgraduate Diploma in security management, Advanced Diploma in Law enforcement and administration, Higher Diploma in Law and Terrorism Studies, Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing (NIJ) and other qualifications from abroad. He belongs to different professional bodies and Associations.
Odumosu enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3rd 1990 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police. He has served in various capacities in the Nigeria Police Force across the Country.
Odumosu started his Policing career as Operations Officer at Isokoko, Ketu and Satellite Division including Area D Command, Mushin in Lagos. He was a former Chairman of Lagos State Task Force on Environmental and Special Offences, Governor’s Office, Alausa, Ikeja.
Officer-in-charge, Pension office in Edo and Ogun State. Head Research and Planning department, Kaduna State Command. Commander, Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Area Commander, Akwanga, Nasarawa State, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Operations, Western Port Authority Command, Lagos.
He was also Area Commander, Agbodi Area Command, Ibadan, Oluyole, Oyo State. Odumosu was at a time Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations at the Federal operations, Force Headquarters, federal capital territory, Abuja. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Department of Operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Commissioner of Police, Research and Planning, and Commissioner of Police, Inspectorate, Department of Training and Development.
Odumosu was a former Commissioner of Police in Edo State. Head, Enforcement Unit of the Presidential Task Force on Restoration of law and order on Apapa Gridlock in Lagos State.
The gallant senior security officer has long years of experience and training in modern Policing system in Nigeria and overseas.
CP Odumosu belongs to different professional bodies such as Institute of Corporate Administration, a fellow of International institute of Professional Security, An active member of International Association of Chiefs of Police, USA , a member of the Institute of Public Administration, Nigeria and a host of others.
No doubt, CP Hakeem Odumosu has distinguished himself over among his colleagues, character and career/profession. The NAOSNP Award as the Police Commissioner of the year 2020 is well deserved honour.
