The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining visionary projects with the commissioning of a state-of-the-art Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre, an Ultra-Modern Dining Hall, and a Students’ Preparatory Hall at NAOWA College, Asokoro, Abuja, on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.
Leading the ceremony, NAOWA President, Mrs Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, described the event as a defining moment of purposeful leadership, institutional continuity, and strategic investment in the future of students from both military and civilian communities. She emphasized that the newly commissioned facilities are not merely physical structures but symbols of opportunity, innovation, and structured development.
Mrs Shaibu highlighted that the CBT Centre equips students with the digital skills and confidence necessary for today’s competitive examination and learning environment. She added that the Ultra-Modern Dining Hall and Students’ Preparatory Hall provide conducive spaces to support academic focus and student well-being.
Underscoring the principle of continuity, Mrs Shaibu noted that while the projects were conceived by her immediate predecessor, her administration ensured their full functionality, particularly through the furnishing of the Dining Hall to sustain and consolidate the original vision. “True leadership preserves progress, protects legacy, and builds on established foundations for lasting impact,” she stated.

In her remarks, the Guest of Honour, Mrs Mernan Femi Oluyede, President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA) and immediate past NAOWA President, expressed satisfaction at seeing the projects brought to life. She emphasized that the initiative was driven by the school’s need for a modern digital examination centre and improved welfare facilities, commending the current leadership for maintaining high standards.
Delivering the goodwill message on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM, Major General Isah M Abdullahi, Chief of Administration (Army), reiterated the Nigerian Army’s support for initiatives that advance the welfare and education of personnel families, noting that investments in education are investments in national development.
