Members of Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) 41 Regular Course (RC) Alumni Association led by the President, Major Lancelot Anyanya (rtd) paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla at the Naval Headquarters Abuja.
Major Anyanya (retd), who visited the CNS in his office today, 11th September, stated that the aim of the visit was to inform the CNS of the forthcoming celebration of the 35th Anniversary of the Course.
He further stated that one of the high points of the celebration would be the unveiling of some significant mementoes at the NDA permanent site, Kaduna on Tuesday 17 September 2024.
Introspectively, he recollected that the CNS was one of the senior cadets who supported members of the course during their cadet training and all through their careers. Major Anyanya (rtd) thanked the CNS for this support and solicited further assistance to make the Anniversary Celebrations successful.
In his response, the CNS gave thanks to Almighty God who has spared the lives of all those present till date. He reminisced sadly about the unfortunate events that led to the demise of some Naval cadets of 41RC early in their cadet training and reiterated that it was important to use this Anniversary as a platform of thanksgiving to GOD ALMIGHTY. He also noted that most members of 41RC have remarkable careers in the Armed Forces due to their discipline and selflessness. Finally, the CNS gave his blessings to the anniversary plans and pledged to support as requested.
