…RAIDS LAGOS NIGHTCLUB OVER DRUG PARTY, ARRESTS OWNER ‘PRETTY MIKE’ AND OTHERS
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted multiple illicit drug consignments and arrested several suspects in a series of intelligence-led operations across the country, including Lagos, Enugu, Kwara, Taraba, and Zamfara States.
At the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, operatives uncovered 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.60 kilograms concealed within the walls of cocoa butter formula body cream containers bound for London, United Kingdom. The discovery was made on October 14, 2025, during the examination of cargoes declared as personal effects on an Air Peace flight.
In a statement by the Director, Media & Advocacy, NDLEA Headquarters, Abuja, Femi Babafemi, a cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the consignment for export, was immediately arrested. Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a female healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, CEO of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co. Travel Agency, at his Ikeja GRA office on October 20.

In a related operation, NDLEA officers at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, intercepted 103.59 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside a Diabeta Herbs Coffee Tea pack. The suspect, Lemena Mark, a 35-year-old citizen of Lesotho, was attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to the Philippines on October 22 when he was arrested.
Similarly, operatives in Kwara State recovered 21,950 capsules of Tramadol 250mg concealed in a 100-litre water heater and arrested Umar Abubakar (40) at Bode Saadu, Moro LGA, on October 21 following credible intelligence.
Drug Party Busted in Lagos Nightclub
In the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, NDLEA operatives raided Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, where a drug party was in progress. Over 100 suspects, including the club owner Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening.
Recovered items included cartons of illicit substances such as Loud and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) found both with partygoers and in the club’s store. The raid followed actionable intelligence, with NDLEA operatives embedded in the party before executing the operation at about 3:00 a.m. in line with the Agency’s Standard Operating Procedures.

Other Major Arrests Nationwide
In Taraba State, operatives arrested Auwal Musa (26) and Salihu Bala (22) with 450,000 pills of Tramadol and Exol-5 at Dan-Anacha checkpoint while transporting the drugs from Onitsha, Anambra State, to Mubi, Adamawa State.
Along the Okene-Lokoja Highway in Kogi State, 162.2kg of skunk was seized from a truck on October 24, while 128kg of the same substance was recovered in Keffi, Nasarawa State, from Abubakar Muhammad (55) on October 22.
A Lagos-based mother of two, Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, was arrested on October 17 at her Lekki residence with 500 grams of Canadian and California Loud, which she distributed across Lekki, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, Ajah, and VGC.
In Ikorodu, operatives recovered 275 litres of “skuchies”, a new psychoactive cocktail of blackcurrant drink, cannabis, and opioids, from the residence of Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe at Solomade Estate.
A 75-year-old man, Echendu Onuoka, was arrested in Abia State with 4.7kg of skunk, while Aukana John (60) was nabbed with 225 grams of the same substance.
NDLEA officers in Ondo State seized 150kg of skunk at Lot Camp, Ikun Akoko, while two suspects, Bashir Mohammad (50) and Samini Ahmed Tijjani (35), were caught with 234.5kg in Lere LGA, Kaduna.
Another pair, Isah Usman (50) and Salvation Okoler (18), were arrested along the Abuja–Kaduna highway with 8,600 Tramadol and Rohypnol pills.

At Seme Border, Jacob Ojugbele was arrested with 55kg of skunk, and Amusa Oluwabukola with 121.3 litres of skuchies.
In Zamfara State, NDLEA operatives arrested Abubakar Ibrahim (30) on October 20 along Gummi–Anka road with an AK-47 rifle and 1,746 rounds of ammunition. The suspect and exhibits have been handed over to the relevant security agencies.
WADA Sensitization Campaigns Continue Nationwide
Meanwhile, NDLEA Commands across the country intensified War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitization campaigns in schools, religious institutions, and communities. Recent engagements were held in Oyo, Kebbi, Enugu, Benue, Taraba, Rivers, and Kano States, among others.

Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the officers and men of MMIA, AIIA, Lagos, Kwara, Abia, Nasarawa, Kogi, Ondo, Anambra, Taraba, Kaduna, Seme, and Zamfara Commands for their professionalism, vigilance, and dedication.
He urged all NDLEA formations nationwide to sustain the Agency’s balanced approach to drug control, combining enforcement with prevention and rehabilitation initiatives.
