The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, has concluded the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Interview for cadets of Regular Course 7, held from October 22 to 25, 2025, as part of activities leading up to their Passing Out Parade (POP).
The exercise, led by the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Training and Development, DIG Frank Emeka Mba, mni, assessed the cadets’ readiness for graduation and their suitability for professional policing duties.

Addressing the cadets during the interview, DIG Mba underscored the importance of discipline, professionalism, and self-development in the course of their careers. He urged them to uphold the highest ethical standards, warning that any act of misconduct, even at this stage, could still attract disciplinary action.
“It is not over until it is over,” DIG Mba reminded the cadets, encouraging them to remain focused and maintain the integrity expected of future police officers.
The Commandant of the Academy, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc (UK), MBA (USA), psc, alongside members of the management team, was present throughout the interview process. He reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to grooming officers of character, competence, and leadership capacity.

As part of the visit, DIG Mba also inspected the POP rehearsals on October 25, where he expressed satisfaction with the cadets’ performance and the Academy’s organizational standards. He particularly commended the inclusion of a female cadet in the Colour Party, describing it as a strong statement of the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to gender inclusion and equality.
The Deputy Inspector General further lauded the Tactical Combat Team for their impressive demonstration, which showcased discipline, tactical readiness, and teamwork.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Isah Umar, the IGP Interview serves as a key evaluation process in determining the cadets’ preparedness to transition into full service within the Nigeria Police Force. The date for the official Passing Out Parade will be announced in due course.
