The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, has announced plans to host its first-ever Convocation Ceremony, alongside the Course Night and Passing Out Parade for cadets of the 7th Regular Course. The three-day event, scheduled to take place from November 20 to 22, 2025, marks a historic milestone in the institution’s evolution as Nigeria’s foremost center for police education and leadership training.
Under the leadership of the Academy’s 24th Commandant, AIG Patrick A. Atayero, MSc (UK), MBA (USA), psc, the convocation will celebrate the academic and professional achievements of cadets from Regular Courses 1 to 7, highlighting years of dedication to academic excellence and disciplined police service.
The event is being held under the visionary leadership of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, PhD, whose commitment to police reform, training innovation, and officer welfare has continued to shape the Nigeria Police Force into a more professional and people-centered institution.
According to a statement from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Umar Musa Isah, the schedule of events is as follows:
- Convocation Ceremony (Regular Courses 1–7): Thursday, November 20, 2025
- Course Night (Regular Course 7): Friday, November 21, 2025
- Passing Out Parade (Regular Course 7): Saturday, November 22, 2025
All events will be held at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State.
AIG Atayero extended an open invitation to the general public, families of cadets, and stakeholders to attend the ceremonies, describing them as “a moment of pride, reflection, and renewal for the Academy and the Nigeria Police Force.”
“This convocation and passing out parade symbolize the Academy’s enduring mission—to produce intellectually sound and professionally disciplined officers who embody integrity, service, and leadership,” he said.
The Nigeria Police Academy, established to integrate university education with police training, has, over the years, produced a new generation of officers equipped to meet the challenges of modern policing. The upcoming events will not only celebrate academic success but also reaffirm the Academy’s role in building a more responsive and accountable police service for Nigeria.
