NITDA, ACCI STRENGTHEN TIES AHEAD OF AFRICA

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has pledged to deepen collaboration with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) as preparations intensify for the second edition of the Africa Space Economy Conference.

A delegation from ACCI visited NITDA’s corporate headquarters in Abuja, where discussions focused on unlocking the vast potential of Africa’s space economy for national and continental growth.

Representing NITDA Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the agency’s Director of Corporate Planning and Strategy, Dr. Dimie Wariowei, reaffirmed NITDA’s readiness to explore new avenues of collaboration with ACCI. He emphasised the role of the space economy in advancing socio-economic development, spurring technological innovation, and driving national progress.

“The space economy presents immense opportunities for Africa. By building strategic partnerships, we can accelerate innovation, attract investments, and harness the benefits of space technologies to transform our economy,” Dr. Wariowei said.

The upcoming conference, themed “Space Economy and Emerging Markets in Africa,” will bring together scientists, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to explore opportunities within the continent’s growing space sector.

Organisers say the event will catalyze new investments, policy development, and knowledge exchange, enabling African countries to fully leverage space technologies for economic diversification and development.
