The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Final Year Committee of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), has launched a capacity-building programme tagged “Upskill for Employability and Self-Reliance” in Bauchi State.
The initiative is aimed at equipping graduating students with essential digital literacy and advanced technology skills, while also offering practical guidance to prepare them for innovation, wealth creation, and sustainable careers after university.
Speaking on behalf of NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Acting Director of the Digital Literacy and Capacity Building Department, Dr. Ahmed Tambuwal, stressed that digital competence has become indispensable for graduates in all fields. He urged students to embrace digital skills as a means of staying competitive and contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s technology-driven economy.
The programme aligns with NITDA’s broader vision of fostering digital inclusion and nurturing talent to support the nation’s transition to a knowledge-based economy.
