
The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, welcomed the Gambian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Hon. Lamin Jabbi, Esq., to the Nigerian Pavilion at GITEX Africa 2025.
Discussions at the meeting centred on revitalising The Gambia’s tech ecosystem and deepening bilateral cooperation in the digital economy. Both leaders also explored avenues for the active participation of the Gambian delegation at the upcoming GITEX Nigeria, scheduled to hold in September 2025.
Highlighting the importance of regional collaboration, the NITDA DG stressed the need to strengthen digital trade between Nigeria and The Gambia by encouraging greater engagement among tech companies and venture capitalists from both nations.
He further proposed the adoption of supportive policy frameworks, including tax holidays for startups in The Gambia, to spur innovation, attract investment, and unlock opportunities for cross-border partnerships.
