NITDA DG SHOWCASES NIGERIA’S DIGITAL ECONOMY

At the ongoing BusinessDay CEO Forum Nigeria in Lagos, themed “From Reforms to Recovery,” the Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, delivered a presentation on “Nigeria’s Journey to a Digital Economy.”

Inuwa highlighted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy’s Blueprint, and NITDA’s Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2.0) as central to reforms driving digital infrastructure, policy innovation, talent development, and inclusive economic growth.

He spotlighted the Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) Initiative, describing it as a bold national effort to achieve 70% digital literacy by 2027 across Nigeria’s formal and informal sectors—including schools, workplaces, markets, and underserved communities.

According to him, digital literacy is the bedrock of Nigeria’s digital economy, and the DL4ALL initiative is designed not only to equip citizens with basic technology skills but also to unlock new opportunities in entrepreneurship, job creation, and socio-economic inclusion.
