The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has officially commenced its 2025 nationwide stakeholder engagement tour, beginning with Benue State, to foster dialogue, spark innovation, and chart a transformative pathway for Nigeria’s digital economy.
The maiden engagement, themed “Creating Opportunities, Breaking Boundaries: Towards Digitalisation and Entrepreneurial Evolution,” convened government representatives, private sector leaders, academia, civil society, and professional bodies to deliberate on how collaboration can unlock new economic opportunities and empower individuals.
Speaking on behalf of the Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, the Deputy Director of IT Infrastructure Solutions, Dr. Lawrence Dirisu, emphasised that effective collaboration among stakeholders is essential to building a prosperous and inclusive digital economy.
He noted that NITDA’s stakeholder engagements are designed to ensure that national digital transformation policies resonate at the grassroots, driving innovation, job creation, and sustainable development.
The tour will continue in Sokoto State tomorrow, where members of the Technical Working Groups (TWGs) from Sokoto, Kebbi, and Zamfara States will converge under the theme: “Collaboration Towards Digitisation and Entrepreneurial Evolution.” The session will focus on establishing a sustainable model for continuous engagement and coordinated interventions in digital economy development across the states.
