NITDA, LAGOS BUSINESS SCHOOL HOLD MANAGEMENT

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Lagos Business School (LBS), has held a one-day high-level management workshop aimed at evaluating the agency’s performance and strengthening its strategic direction toward building a digitally structured and AI-driven society.

The workshop convened NITDA’s leadership alongside key executives from LBS to review the agency’s mandate and align its operations with emerging global trends in digital transformation.

A major highlight was the presentation of the Digital Economy Landscape Assessment Report and other critical research outputs developed by LBS. These reports are expected to support NITDA in optimising internal processes, enhancing policy development, and reinforcing Nigeria’s ambition to lead Africa in digital innovation and technology adoption.

In his address, NITDA’s Director General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, charged the agency’s management team to accelerate efforts in keeping pace with the global shift from digitalisation to artificial intelligence (AI)-driven systems. He stressed the importance of a proactive and visionary approach to policy, innovation, and regulation in positioning Nigeria competitively in the global AI economy.

The Director General also officially received the NITDA Regulatory Intelligence Framework (RIF) and Strategy Implementation Document, which will guide the agency in strengthening regulatory oversight and fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and innovation-friendly digital ecosystem.

The strategic engagement reflects NITDA’s commitment to continuous learning, academic collaboration, and adaptive leadership as it drives forward Nigeria’s digital economy agenda in line with global best practices.
