The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to expanding its strategic collaboration with Microsoft to fast-track Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
Inuwa made this known while receiving Jeff Bullwinkel, Microsoft’s Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Corporate, External & Legal Affairs (EMEA), at NITDA’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
The high-level engagement provided a platform to review the evolution of Microsoft’s partnership with the Nigerian government and to explore new areas of synergy.
Reiterating the Agency’s vision, Inuwa stressed that technology is a key enabler of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s eight priority areas, adding that partnerships with global tech leaders like Microsoft are critical to accelerating economic growth, digital inclusion, and national prosperity.
“Through stronger collaboration, we can build a digitally empowered nation that delivers opportunities for all Nigerians,” Inuwa stated.
On his part, Mr. Bullwinkel reaffirmed Microsoft’s long-term commitment to Nigeria, pledging continued support for the government’s innovation-driven policies. He was accompanied by Ola Williams, Microsoft’s General Manager for Nigeria and Ghana, and Nonye Ujam, Microsoft’s Director for Government Affairs.
The renewed partnership is expected to deepen digital skills development, expand innovation ecosystems, and strengthen governance through technology, in line with Nigeria’s drive to harness digital transformation for inclusive growth.
