Abuja, Nigeria — The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, has hosted the Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, on a courtesy visit to deepen collaboration on digital literacy initiatives.
During the meeting, Sanya highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing interventions, with particular focus on the Digital Skills for Digital Jobs programme—a multinational initiative aligned with Nigeria’s national priorities and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Scheduled to launch in Abuja by April, the programme aims to equip young Nigerians with the digital skills required to thrive in the evolving global economy.
Reaffirming NITDA’s support for the programme, Inuwa noted its alignment with the Federal Government’s National Digital Literacy Framework (NDLF). He further highlighted the Agency’s ongoing achievements through its flagship Digital Literacy for All (DL4All) initiative, delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Education, NYSC, Cisco, and Coursera.
According to Inuwa, such collaborations are critical to accelerating the attainment of Nigeria’s digital inclusion goals, bridging the digital divide, and empowering young people for the future of work.
The renewed partnership between NITDA and MTN Foundation is expected to provide a strong boost to the government’s efforts to build a digitally skilled, innovation-driven workforce capable of supporting Nigeria’s economic transformation.
