The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has renewed its partnership with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) to advance digital empowerment initiatives for displaced persons and vulnerable youth across Nigeria.
The Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, received the Federal Commissioner of NCFRMI, Mr. Aliyu Tijani Ahmed, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja to strengthen collaboration on expanding digital literacy, deploying ICT tools, and implementing tailored training programmes to meet the Commission’s unique needs.
Speaking during the engagement, Inuwa stressed that this year’s intervention would be more focused and impactful, noting that a technical team would be established to co-create solutions with NCFRMI for effective delivery.
“The partnership is designed not only to empower displaced persons with digital skills and tools but also to build the capacity of NCFRMI staff to better serve their communities,” Inuwa said.
On his part, Ahmed commended NITDA’s continued support and reaffirmed NCFRMI’s commitment to working closely with the agency to bridge digital gaps for refugees, migrants, and internally displaced persons.
The renewed collaboration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises inclusive development, digital transformation, and creating opportunities for all Nigerians, regardless of background or circumstance.
