The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has organised a one-day digital literacy training for 100 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), aimed at equipping them with practical skills for everyday use in today’s digital world.
Facilitated by NITDA’s Digital Literacy Champions, the training targeted participants aged 16 and above, focusing on smartphone and internet skills to enhance self-reliance and resilience.
The programme covered essential areas including confident smartphone use, online information search, effective communication via WhatsApp, and simple visual content creation using Canva. Participants were also trained on online safety and identifying digital scams to ensure secure use of digital platforms.
In addition, the session introduced basic financial literacy concepts and highlighted opportunities for economic empowerment, enabling participants to take steps toward greater independence and sustainable livelihoods.
